i was afraid to get on the scale for fear i gained back a lot of the weight i had lost. i am still on the ornish diet sort of but have been cheating with fish and once with chicken. i was so depressed...i wake up every morning very depressed lately that i thought i might as well get on the scale since i didn't think i could get more depressed. I found out that i lost some more weight and now have lost 20 pounds. i have been eating sweet corn and nuked potatoes. i am fed up with lentils and might try split pea soup. i started back with broccoli.

hey, as cheating goes, that's excellent! Fish is wonderful food. And even Ornish can't be all THAT hung up on avoiding it, since he recommends taking fish oil. Chicken and turkey are both very lean meats also, especially if you have breast.

these are all great foods. check the split pea ingredients to make sure it's all veg - some kinds have ham in them.

great going, keep on doing what you're doing!

diet yeh!

Hi Biz, you can do this. It really can be done. I lived all my life fat, obese since my early adulthood and kids. colestrol terrible, in badshape with blood , BP, and loaded with cervical issues. My ankles are like my neck. I lost 65 pounds, and I would have done it before if I new how easy it was. I just drank water, ate less, gave up fast food, coke(bubblie kind) It came off fast when I ate right. My counter is loaded with fruit at all times, cut up veggies in the fridge, yogurt. I can say for sure, IT CAN be done. Good luck to you, just wait till you can wear those cloths you couldn't before. It is so much fun.:)

yea!!!!! bobby!!!!!!
I am so happy for your weight loss, I am hoping that you can pat yourself on the back and quit being so hard on yourself.
you are taking steps in the right direction...you have been out of the house on more than one occasion at the center you tried chair exercises, you're meeting people and not being so isolated.
keep going, I think it is good for you in so many ways.

Dear Bobby,
It's good you got on the scale. Depression does funny things to us -- like make us think we are gaining weight when we are really loosing weight.

Sometimes our brain goes away from reality so it is good to have a tool like a scale to bring it back.

yummy food

been eating fairly well.

last night, divided into about 3 takes, pasta with anchovies, mixed green leafy stuff plain, avocado, anchovies + seeded bread 1/2 sandwich, small slice of blackberry tart.

eggs again this morning - hardboiled. for lunch & afternoon snack, a veg-rice dish.

tonight... :D shrimp with garlic, olive oil and a little butter for flavor, woohoo! spinach and carrots on the side. stole one bite of plain potato before seasoning it for the folks.

lecithin with almost every meal/snack.

still haven't got with the exercise, but did some more heavy cleaning - enough to raise heart rate and sweat - better than nothing.

~ waves ~ not losing weight, but not gaining either

hi morgy

Did you ever put black beans and corn together on a soft burito shell? can add tomatoe, and all kinds of good stuff. This was my favorite of all favorite food during my changing of the habits. I could eat them all the time. You mentioned sweet corn and it made me think of this receipe. ginnie

Welcome Virginia

to our world of dieting and eating healthy.

I'm Donna and I've been kind of awol from the room for many reasons.

Mostly because food hasn't tasted good. And I've just not wanted
to talk about it.

SO I'm around just not talking.

But wanted to say hi.

Donna
