noon with zoloft
- anchovy + tomato mega-sandwich (4 anchovies, 2 tomatoes)

the deal with the anchovies - dad got a big jar of them. that upset my mother because she says they spoil too quick. my job, over the next few days, will be to ensure they don't last long enough to spoil!

i've also been eating peanuts on and off. probably about 1/2 a cup a day, few here, few there.

Waves,
Have fun with the anchovies!v:D

Last night I had the 1/2 of the big avocado I bought a few days ago.
It was the greatest thing I've eaten in a while -- have to remember to buy another one.

I like sandwhiches. There is a comfort in holding them. I don't know why. Last night I used millet bread to make a toasted cheese sandwhich --- I was liberal with the mayo and mustard.v:)

sounds great! and they are so good for us too! we had a particularly good one the other day also. my mom was upset because it had some roots/bark on the inside. but it was only a few spots, and easy to remove. beyond that, it had wonderful flavor, and the texture was excellent... smooth and buttery.

you've mentioned this before and i've since had occasion to notice and ponder over it. and i agree. i find it comforting to hold a sandwich also.

that sounds good. i've had different multi-grain and seeded breads so it's likely i've had something with millet in it before, but not specifically millet bread. i am curious about it. i don't know if i can get that here, but tomorrow i will be going to pdoc so i will have a look at the big store near there. ;)

wowww... that's like a whole day's worth of veggies if it was a portion of each!!!! :D you are a power-dieter, Bizi!

i have been on the anchovy-and-tomato-sandwich diet! lots of tomato with them helps balance the salt - both taste-wise and in terms of electrolytes because of the potassium content.

well, We went out to eat with our good friends and I had a big chicken wrap with ranch dressing and cheese and guacmole which was very good.
i didnot eat the rice nor the soup or chips and salsa and left behind some of the spinach wrap that was huge. I stopped when I was full. hard for a clean your plate kind of girl.

diet

:hug:Hello to all of you that are on your diet quests. I offer my hope that each of you will be able to loose the weight and help your life. I had to, my fear over the condition my body was in, made me realize my weight was making my conditions ever so much worse. It didn't take long, and the joy at just wearing cloths that look nice pushed me to continue. I should have done it before I got into such a medical mess. I offer a smile and hope for all of you. If you need any help, or want to know what I did, tap back. I believe it is easier to do than you think it is. :circlelove:

hi donna

Thanks for the Hi. I hope I can express possitive attitude to help others. I do want to do something to inspire, something to help in some way. This weight stuff in our whole country is in the news. I hated how I looked, I felt even worse and it added to depression. Weight loss did not help my DJD or DDD but I know it will help me through my up coming surgery. I am in much better shape going into it. I want to offer hope and smile and what ever else I can do for people with weight issues. I have been getting such good messages from others with my cervical disease. Maybe I can offer some good positive info for this issue. ginnie

I had chicken strips with the chicken gravy sauce from Dairy Queen
today for lunch. With a few fries. Didn't seem to be that hungry.

So I didn't eat many of them.

I had peanut butter and banana for supper.

And still looking for other things that look good.

Heehee,

I drink water along with diet pop of course.

Ghastly day ... diet lost to chocolates!

Diet? What diet?

Yesterday a friend brought in some chocolate -
Ferrero Rocher and some Lindt dark chocolate with mint.

Yours truly had three of the Ferrero Rocher at once and another three after lunch. That is 73 calories a piece, totaling 474 calories. And then I felt sick to even look at them.

That was what I thought, but it wasn't. After dinner my eyes slyly spied the Lindt. But I am happy to say I only had one square.

I did have a small dinner to compensate and cycled for about an hour. That should have seen off those calories.

So today I need to eat carefully.
I had a toast for breakfast, am planning to lunch on one boiled egg, a salad with some honey mustard dressing and some natural, home made yogurt.
I'll have a piece of fruit to keep me going till dinner and think of a boring and low calorie dinner.

And then hopefully work off about 500 calories in the evening.

Hey ginnie, any suggestions will be welcome and much appreciated.

Re:diet hellos

I made several small changes, that was really it in a nut shell. I do not eat fast food period. not even for a reward. I LOVE hamburgers, so once in awhile I get lean meat and control how big I make them. Some things I just could not give up, ice cream. So now I eat frozen yogurt. YUM! I do not drink soft drinks. I was told the suger in them, wants to make you drink more of the stuff. I eat less, but I eat all of the things I like. I really did not deprive myself other then those small changes. Once I started eating more fruit, veggies, smoothies, granola, nuts, dried fruit, the weight flew off!!!!!!!:) People could not believe how fast this happened. I cannot excersise, but I do garden sitting on my butt, spot to spot. I do drink milk, the good stuff, just not alot of it. I figure if I am going to eat something, it better be the good stuff. I do allow myself real butter no margarines and as little as the bad oils as i can do following those ever crazy ingredient lables. I did use a smaller plate, ate little meals whenever I felt like it. I did not count calories at all. I did this in under two years, 20 months, and I've been stable for two years now.Oh the most important thing was WATER. Drink as much as you can! It is going to be OK for all of you. my colestrol, was 247 and now 171. I hope this helped in some small way. This was really not hard for me to do, and I don't know why I didn't think I could, I do not know why I failed so many times before eithor. I know fear over my health spurred me on, no question about it, but it was just a differnent approach I tried. I was good to myself too. I can offer a few new things food wise too. Keep in touch with me and do let me know how all of you are. I am happy for all of you that you want to make yourself healthier. I am 59, and I guess it is never too late. ginnie
