Those and the one I painted today are my favs so far. I might just get the nerve to put the "wart" ones up tomorrow, LOL.
I'm glad you enjoyed them. :Blush2: |
I was wondering where the wart was! I was looking hard at those to find it! lol

Good early morning all. :) Not sure why I'm up so early today , but that's okay.
Gonna try to get some stuff done around the house. Maybe even make breakfast. :grouphug: Have a good day all |

tired about stressing out about the moving and unpacking ... so I'm off to the local farmer's market ... even if I buy a bunch of flowers will make my day!!
one day at a time is hard ... and I just want to scream, yell, cry, and even swear! :yikes: but, I'm okay - and I'm hanging in there ... Tricia - you ask me to come out?? LOL ... I've been lurking tho ... just still having a hard time accepting the fact that I have a disease that has forced me to relocate because I don't have an income (still waiting) ... why is it so hard? not in survival-mode anymore ... time to LIVE LIVE LIVE (watched Auntie Mame last night) ... |
Vonn, I love Auntie Mame! One of my all time favorite movies.
Just taking a breath before I start my short to-do list for the day. Just some little things that need, need doing - LOL. |
Hey all. Up early to take Jim to the new urologist. He is so tired. I've had him up 4 days now and it's taking it's toll on him. One more day and I told him he can stay in bed for three days. lol He loves our new beds and we both slept like babies.
I'l update later on how it went at the doctors office. |

finding something meaningful, affordable, and satisfying that I could still do, that's flexible, forgiving, and makes my heart sing. Vonn, that search took me 15 years, since my "forced retirement" and yes, I REALLY had to "relocate" in order to be able to AFFORD to follow my dream... and yeah, I miss my kids, a lot. but then again, they're so busy nowadays, with college and jobs, that I'd hardly ever see them anyway, so I couldn't base my choices on them. I had to think outside the box, and... work *constantly* on acceptance. I could go around angry, or resentful all day ("Why ME ?? This is UNFAIR !!") but like you, I just knuckled down, and did what had to be done. you're a survivor Vonn, like me... you'll bounce back, and find things to do, and friends, to fill your heart and soul... besides, you've got all of us in your corner, rootin' for ya, and cheerin' ya on !! :grouphug::hug::grouphug: |
Mornin' all. Well I managed to get a few things done yesterday :D so I'm feeling better about today's to do list.
Took DS to his group golf lesson last night and he made me proud. Every week the head pro singles out a kid or two during the lessons to show the whole group (20-22 last night) something. Last night DS got hauled up in front of everyone for consistent proper swing from pre to post. That's my boy! :D  This is his second summer for lessons and first time as example dude. Hope everyone stays cool and has a great day. :) |
Hey all didn't sleep much here last night...weather change...need I say more. Plus the raccoons were on a tear the past two nights they have been desperately trying to get into the feed bins for the cats and the birds. We have about 12 hummers at our feeders that hang about all day, they are so cute and not at all afraid if you go stand beside them! We have new baby deer too, they are sooo cute, we were watching one romp around last night and Olivia was excited. Dunno what today holds but a lazy start so far......
|
Vonn - I know it what you mean. It is really difficult. I've been there and I have 2 girls to support too. We had some really tough times. Things got better once I got my SSDI. You will make it through this and things will be fine. Give yourself the time to adjust and accept. Definitely, without a doubt, buy yourself the flowers. They will brighten up the place and help make you feel better. Hang in there Vonn! We are all here for you.:grouphug:
Fin - Don't you hate that? There are times I just want to sleep in but for some reason I always wake up between 5:30 and 6. Post your new paintings when you get a chance. I'd love to see them, especially if they are your favorites. Sandy - Wishing Jim the best of luck today at his appointment with the urologist. Good morning everyone else, who must be lucky to sleep in. ;) Hope you all have a great day! |
I'm back ... and people were still coming out to set up .. BUT, I found the lady with the 'glads' (purple, coral, pink, yellow, and lilac).. and picked up 2 ears of corn and red taters! (only spent $6)
thanks, Tricia, Kay, Jenn ... and everyone ... it's so frustrating explaining why I can or can't do something ... and when my doctor says 'NOT' to return to work ... I'm listening ... although .. .I "LOOK" okay on the outside! now I understand why people 'go into hibernation-mode' ... I'm writing a paper for my negotiation course on 'dealing with government programs and how does one even start with them when they don't (like myself) even know what questions to ask'! ... my goal: to write a 'how-to' guidebook for physicians and clinics to give to people with a new diagnosis or a sudden illness. this will help them from needing anti-depressent meds - because they will get some sort of answer and at least get them in the right direction on who to deal with. yep - been thinking about this ALOT! have a great day ... will stop by later!! :) |

I called Kids Care and the lady I spoke was stumped. She told me to hold on and that she was going to get her supervisor. She came back on and said that I should have gotten a letter from Kids Care about my premium. I knew nothing about that. So she said since they didn't get anything back, they canceled the insurance. That is not correct as DD18 is still on it!!! She said that my local office could have different requirements and that is why DD18 is still on it. Huh? It's all the state health care system. It's the same freaking thing. The only difference is SOME of the funding. Go figure on daughter is on it and the other isn't. My local DES office submitted the paperwork for the Kids Care program again. She did say they received it and to check on it in a few days. It is frustrating to me as DD16 needs some follow up and we planned to discuss that at her physical next week. Which I had to cancel as I don't have $120 to pay for it. We are now going to go to our local Walgreens that is offering school/sports physicals for $25. I did tell the lady at the state health office about this and wanted to see how long it will take to get re-instated. 6-8 weeks!!! Thank goodness DD16 is doing better now but I am still concerned about some possible neurological issues. Well, quite frankly, MS. She has some nerve thing in her eye which we have been keeping our eye on. The ophthalmologist is not quite sure what it is. He is thinking possible glaucoma. She had that vertigo which was bad enough I brought her to the ER. She has all sorts of strange pains on and off in her hip and neck that need checking in to. All of which we were going to talk to her dr about next week. Does this help your paper, Vonn? lol |
:Wave-Hello: good morning everyone ...
it's been awhile since ive been on but frank has tried to keep me updated on everyone ... problem is i dont remember what all he said lol anyway ... i hope this post finds everyone doing well ... |
There you are Deb! Hey, Jim and I were talking about you guys yesterday wondering when your coming to fish. lol
|
thanks, Tricia ... that's in the state of AZ??? or OZ??? LOL
YES - talk about having to negotiate what we need and they don't even know which direction to send us ... like WE are suppose to know! as I work on the paper ... feel free to PM me with 'negotiating' situations ... and I'll quote you with only first name and city/state .. I need documentation ... thanks!! going over to the postcard thread to start pm-ing my new addy! |
Quote:
Don't forget to PM me your addy. |
Ok guys, I need some advice here :). I'd love to get involved in this thread but I'm really overwhelmed with trying to catch up with all of everyone's stuff, LOL! How do I jump in without reading all of the info  I feel so out of the loop.
|
Joelle, you just did :) Just jump right in, we don't bite. at least I don't think we do ..... :D
|
Fin's right Joelle - you just did it. No need to catch up. That is an impossible feat, I think - pages and pages of posts.
Glad to see you join in. |
Wow. Everyone has had a busy morning. I uploaded three more pics, including my big ? one that I'm not sure I like. After this, the fun of doing dishes, LOL
Wish me luck on this next part - Sandy, hope Jim's appointment went well Vonn, I know how ya feel. There's a large part of me that wants to keep fighting my "new" normal. Being stubborn doesn't help, cuz everything is learned the hard way. But the plus side - I am learning. :) TK, what a confusing situation. Gotta love gov't programs sometimes. Renee, that is neat about the humming birds! |
nice seeing you, Joelle ..
jump on in .... you may get addicted and not even know it!! |
Fin - It is sad when even the government workers get confused and then have to cover up their mistakes. LOL
|
well, I did it .. filled out the incorporation papers for the quilt corp .... then after I get the copies back from the state, I can apply for tax-exempt status from the feds ...
going to start it ... and move on with my life! |
Thanks everyone :) and good for you Vonn! I've been feeling 'disconnected' since my mom died so I'm trying 'reconnect'. This seemed like the perfect way :D! I'm typing from my phone so I don't have paragraph capabilities so I'll try to keep it short and sweet . I'm trying to get crafty today :). I got the old glue gun out and I'm gonna do something...not sure what yet, LOL.
|
Joelle - sorry to hear about your mom ... I've been there ... and reconnecting is definitely a good thing!
|
JOELLE HAS A GLUE GUN!!! Look out! Warn the kids and her dh as she may get "crafty" on them. LOL
Joelle, that "disconnected" feeling is normal. Hang in there. It gets easier with time. |

'cause I *know* I'll forget... in about 5... 4... 3 minutes. hee hee hee... I think it's nappy-time already, I'm so tired and it's only 10 am !! got alla da critters fed, and inspected the newly-roofed shelter. I was nervous yesterday, as it rained very heavily after the crew left... so, I worried that it would wreck the concrete slab. HAPPY to see it's okay, luckily, it was a very SHORT downpour. the main reason I'm so goshdang tuckered is I gave a tour to half-a-dozen neighborhood kids, they wanted to see all the new patitos y conejillos (baby ducklings and baby guinea pigs) then, they picked fallen mangoes for an hour, while I supervised, and provided (used - recycled) plastic bags for their booty. it's good to feel PART of a village, and to share, because I hate waste... there's so many mangoes we couldn't possibly eat them all... we canned cases and cases of chunked fruit, jams, preserves, and even made some really great chutney, so basically, I don't wanna even LOOK at mangoes for a while. and remember, my hands are all swollen from mango-rash (same oil that causes poison oak and poison ivy) so, I promise I didn't help pick this time. oh, and my honey made falafels for breakfast, since it's officially Falafel Day: http://static.crooksandliars.com/200...-july-30th.png :D:p:D |
welcome like fin said just fall right in, there are days i have to read 5 pages to catch up
here i deleted the glue the kids to the wall comment, so as not to scare joelle off everyone good morning howdy vonn great idea tk I still call and bi@$# about it there is no way one can be ok and her being older and the young one not covered thats pure bs, I know you are in the anti common sense state but still call your congressman get him moving on this matter, donjt pay a dam dime she should of been covered and its their mistake not yours, ok another sip of coffee please... sandy was looking at the map we were half way to your home the other day when we shot down to aurora, did not realize how close you are, now we have to see if debs new schedule is stable hopefully august Fin I posted about your pics where the pics are so hopefully this NT world sent you my reviews sarah hope u are feeling better howdy kay barb and who ever pops in peace |
kay thats awesome, i imagine its a wonderful feeling seeing those kids eyes light up and glow with joy, you did good:hug:
happy alfalfa dayhttp://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...74/ALFALFA.jpg |
Did some light chores and ready for a nap here too. It amazes me sometimes how something so small can wipe a body out. But I am doing it bit by bit. It may not be perfect, but it looks a lot better than it did before I started. :)
Frank, glad you liked my "wart", LOL. It's just one of those that somedays I like it and somedays I don't. Joelle, Glue guns! Oh, you can have so much fun with those! Of course, I almost always get glue on my hands, LOL Vonn, you go, girl! That is so cool. Kay, That was a great thing you did. The kids must've loved it!! |
Joelle!!!!!!!!!!! Finally you found us! Look at my new name! I was afwifeRM but got divorced so this is the new me. Just jump right in don't worry about catching up LOL it will all change tomorrow!
|
Wait why is Bill O'Reilly in that falafel?
|
Hi everyone! You have had a busy morning!
Hi Joelle! It is good to see you here. I did not realize about your mom passing until recently. I must have been on vacation or just out it it when it occurred. I am so sorry! Don't worry about catching up with everyone. It is impossible. Vonn -- pm me your address too, please. Sandy -- Hope Jim's appointment goes well. I also looked at and enjoyed your artwork. You guys are so talented. . Jenn -- I looked at the pictures you had posted last night. They were really cool; I especially liked the blue one alot. I forget the title -- MS something? Tricia --- Sounds like you have been having a great time dealing with all of the red tape and bureaucracy. I hope you can get everything worked out. When your daughter that is 18 starts college, can she get student insurance? they require it here -- part of fees. It has been raining/storming here since last night. I may need to build a raft. I went into my office this morning and finished my last syllabus.:yahoo: Now I am off to get something to eat. I don't think I have done too well this week with the diet. |
Howdy Joelle! Come on in and make yerself comfy. Never mind trying to get caught up 'cause you can't. I try to post once a weekday and just lurk on the weekends. A :grouphug: or  says it all when there are too many posts to respond to. Hitting the thanks button works just as well. I should do that more often.
Well I got a few things done but need to get back at it. Ugh. Think I'll tackle the mountain of dishes next. Gotta get out from under this mess before I can really play. |
OHG (Our Hearts Greeting) has put my work up on their site. I am so excited about it and hope that it helps them raise funds for their cause. If I can figure out how to put a link up in my profile I will. Otherwise, the painting titled Colors of Water in my album is the one that I donated to them.
Apparently, this month they sent out over 100 thank yous to their nominees! I am sure funds are low now so hopefully this will help them. It is the only thing I could offer.;) |
