last night we had roast beef on a bed of lettuce. tomato and cucumber on the side. sachertorte for dessert. (mom found one 'on special' and dad is crazy about the things)
today lunch pasta with broccoli and carrots. dad's specialty. then the rest of the sachertorte. tonight dinner mom is making a doing a turkey breast pot roast... very lean stuff. i made matchstick zucchini & carrots with hot paprika and garlic powder (a recipe i only invented to finish off the hot paprika mom bought by accident, but it's actually really good!). also steam-roasted bell pepper strips, peeled, plain. i had half a beer yesterday, and today i just finished the other half. ~ waves ~ |
Dear Waves,
You are eating low fat with lots of veggies. :D I hope you enjoyed the torte --- even if it was more than you would have chosen for yourself. M. |
Waves I have heard that we should weigh ourselves at certain times of the day only. like when we first get up and after going to the bath room. when we have not been eating or drinking for a period of time like after sleeping. this is our base line weight. If you weigh at the den of your day you have eaten and drank up to 4 pounds of fluid ( 8 glasses equals 4 pounds), that is why weighing thru out the day really is not a good weight.
hope this is clear. I never weigh right before bed. that is the heaviest time for me. jsut a suggestion. bizi *Who has been off her diet, eating and drinking since our vacation....:o |
LOLOL Bizi... i could not drink 8 glasses of water without ridding myself of some of it in between. :D but yes i understand what you are saying. actually i am fairly careful about when i weigh myself. but i think there was an actual fluctuation as Donna suggested. it does have to do with fluid retention during part of the month, i think. not sure though.
pssst... you ate well during the first few days back i thought... :o Dear Mari, the sacher was good. only about 8 inches diameter anyway. 6 servings. the pasta had quite a bit of oil... but it's good oil at least (olive). i've been having my vegs / salads without anything lately. since we found i was low in folic acid my mother seems to have started buying more foliage, too. :) ~ waves ~ about to go wash another handful of fresh blueberries |
Tonight I made the BBQ shrimp recipe that I posted in that thread. Which means I had a half of a stick of butter and loved it!
oh well tomorrow is another day. boy was that yummy! bizi We went to a fund raiser tonight had a couple of beers and danced a couple of times, it was fun, and maybe burned off some calories...lol |
Dear Bizi
i've just had gorgonzola cheese spread on bread for lunch... and yesterday for "breakfast"... :o very fatty stuff! thank goodness it is finished! yes tomorrow is another day. ;) at least this morning i only had leftover veggies on bread (the zucchini and carrots). ~ waves ~ |
very good sweet corn:)
salad with vidalia onion dressing, french bread, talapia with paprika, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.... yummy! |
ahhh yes corn. there's something i haven't had in a while. a lonnnnng while.
Bizi that talapia sounds good... i want to try doing fish that way now... mmmmm. i am so grateful i can still appreciate food, even if not the more important things in life... food may not be self-actualizing but it is grounding. we had hamburger tonight. they had 2, i had just one (3 oz before cooking). big bowl of diverse foliage, plain, and 5 cherry tomatoes. had a 16 oz beer in the afternoon, too. i just had a handful of blueberries, but i'm still hungry... nom. :o i specifically want something salty and starchy. like bread and cheese. :o nom nom. ~ waves ~ |
I had a pretty good dinner.
More chips, with a Roast beef sandwich and sweet baby pickles. And Sweet Ice Tea. Donna:grouphug: I also had for lunch, Part of a chicken strip, and a peanut butter cookie. |
I went to the gym tonight...
I only went twice last week and really felt it. Lifted some weights and walked hard on a stair master for 10 min 30 minutes on a 20% incline tread mill at 3.5 MPH. good work out.:) I would like to walk a 5 K fund raiser some time to see how I do...need to look into this. bizi |
