jeff and I ate half pound cheese burgers last night for dinner and split a pound of steamed asparugus. Corned beef sounds good....was it salty?
I like corned beef with saurcraute sp?or just cabbage, which are both low carb choices. please don't be hard on yourself.
I am sticking to frozen brocolli, some fresh bunch the other day was bad when I fixed it, turned a weird shade of green when I steamed it....We just put some cheese on it and ate it anyway. It never went to the rich brite green color.

Default Hi Bobby

The oat meal, especially the steel cut variety should help conntrol your appetite not stimulate it. also try eating an apple before a meal. Carbs like potatoes and spegetti seem to make me more hungry. I know you are trying hard. ginnie

Red face

I like the ground beef we eat. It is extra lean 94% fat free, kind of like eating steak. It only has 130 calories for 4 ounces, lean chicken has 120.I am trying to stay below 100 carbs and below 1800 calories. IT is a slow way to lose weight but that way I am sure to really lose it this time and keep it off.
I gave up alcohol for lent(even though I am not religious), IT was embarressing how much I drank on lundi gras( monday before fat tuesday) and then mardi gras it self. bizi

Heart dropping in...

Dear Bobby

thinking of you. wanted to send some (((hugs))). i can't keep up with the forum at the moment. too much *stuff* in my head, besides many actual shoulds and need-to's going on... i feel overwhelmed. i don't even feel like posting about it... like it would be more overwhelming. also i hate living at home right now. so much negative energy. i wish i could live in a rabbit hole. except for the insects of course.

i read that you woke up depressed again. and that someone you know from the center died. i am sorry to hear that. even if you didn't know them well it sure hits home when it is someone you see every day... i am sorry. more (((hugs))).

i hope the depression pattern improves. just do your best with the eating, and follow your instincts about that scary guy.

love

waves.

the corn beef was a little salty but i ate the whole thing. for lunch i had two blood red oranges.
Waves-I am so sorry you are feeling so badly. it is the pits isn't it? I don't know how you can tune out your environment. music with headphones? but those probably wouldn't cut through the negative vibrations. being bipolar makes everything so much worse.
ginnie, i am curious what my a1c will be next time after eating so much oatmeal. steel cut oatmeal has a lower glycemic index but before i was eating the oatmeal I wasn't having much carbohyhdrates at all.
the day has progressed and my depression has gotten worse. i was reading but that didn't seem to help. I wish i could just escape by falling asleep.

Default you are trying bobby

Hi Bobby, I think you are trying hard in every respect. You are watching your diet, and trying to distract and improve your mood daily. Keep on with the oat meal if you can, it really does have some good things in it for your whole diet. Have you ever tried a blood orange? Very powerful pick me up type of food. The reading is good, maybe pick a subject that gets you so involved all the other issues melt away. I can't always do this either, but I give it my best shot to help with my own depression. I battle this monster all the time, and try to think of you, waves, bizi, mari, all of us. I refuse to let it beat me.
My medical and personal issues stink, but I have this site here, and all of you to thank for continued support. Keep on trucking, I care about you . ginnie

Hi, Ginnie,
Those oranges are beautiful! I have not had any lately so I do not remember if they taste different.

Keep taking care.

Default Hi Mari

Not only are those oranges a red inside, they do have a tart kick. Kind of like a tangereen, only better. We don't get them often down here even, but when I see them around, I pick up a few. They cost a bit these days just like all the good stuff for us does. It is better to spend it on one orange than a box of cookies! I think they are $1 each. Hope you get them in where you live and give them a try. ginnie
